Now for a brief pause...

I had hoped to post another essay, perhaps two, before taking a little break, but there has been no time for me to do that. I am preparing for what probably is best described as a short but intense history course, which begins March 28.

If things go according to plan -- and that sometimes happens -- I will be back on this site with a new essay sometime toward the end of the first week in April. I know a bit more now about the operations of the Twin Cities' two daily newspapers under their new owners and new editors, and will relate that to what is happening to newspapers throughout our country. It is a rather frightening prospect for the country as well as print journalism, I'm afrad.
